What is Radix Isatidis Extract?Radix Isatidis extract is a yellow-brown powder extracted from the dried roots of the cruciferous plant Isatis indigotica. The main active ingredients are indigo, isatin, indigo, indigo glycoside B, uridine, uracil, hypoxanthine, and salicylic. Acid, indigo ketone, carotinoside, β-sitosterol, isatidin, C and butyl. It also contains vegetable protein, resinous substances, sugars, glucosin, various amino acids and trace elements. It has the functions of clearing away heat and detoxifying, antibacterial, antiviral, cooling blood and throat. Radix Isatidis extract can be used in pharmaceutical preparations, raw materials for health products, herbal tea beverage additives, health food additives, veterinary medicine raw materials and feed ingredients.
Radix Isatidis extract is the root of Isatis tinctoria L. and Isatis indigotica Fort.; or the rhizome and root of Baphicacanthus cusia (Nees) Brem. Radix isatidis also has antiviral effects on influenza virus, HCMV, HSV-1, and HSV-2 . This study found that the Radix isatidis polysaccharide can inhibit PRV infection and kill this virus. These results showed that this extract might contain one or more broad-spectrum antiviral agents.The main effect of Isatis indigotica: antibacterial and antiviral effect Isatis indigotica has an effect on a variety of bacteria.
